After a 35-year ban imposed by ultra-conservative clerics, Saudi Arabia held the grand opening of the Kingdom’s first cinema – a monumental occasion for the Saudi people.

A red carpet entrance, a live band, and non-alcoholic drinks served in tequila glasses in the open air made for a beautiful atmosphere for invited guests that included royalty, government officials, investors, producers, actors and the media, with many showing interest in partnering with iflix!

On the screen, Hollywood superhero blockbuster Black Panther, and in the seats, for the first time in decades, men and women – seated together – ready to enjoy the show, popcorn in hand.

As the country diversifies its economy away from oil, this tremendous milestone plays a role in the vision of HRH the Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
