We invited iflix bros to get involved, grow a mo’ and contribute to our fundraising efforts for Movember, the annual charity event that asks participants to commit to growing and grooming their moustaches for the full 30 days of November whilst raising awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and suicide prevention.
The iflix team showed support for the Movember movement by nominating a Mo Bro to grow some upper lip fuzz, collecting cash donations, and hosting weekly info sessions to help save and improve our in-house men’s lives. On top of that, Mo Sistas were encouraged to get involved through fundraising and sporting a faux mo.
What started as the brilliant idea of two Aussie friends back in the early 2000s, has grown into an international phenomenon to highlight men’s health issues, giving fathers, brothers, sons and friends around the world the tools and simple steps they need to lead a healthy life.
In the spirit of fun and to raise funds for the National Cancer Society of Malaysia, the boys at iflix entered the facial hair growing competition in droves (close to 100 participants were nominated).
Collectively, the team at iflix raised thousands of ringgit to benefit cancer-related initiatives. Dan Ward, Talent Acquisition Specialist, was voted winner of the ‘Best Mo’ and a special mention to Tim Osmond, Head of Video, who single-handedly raised more than RM 4000 on his own for the cause.
Globally, the movement has made significant strides in the areas of suicide prevention, increasing early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reducing the number of preventable deaths.
